School Traffic
Okay what is wrong with the Liberty School District? Seriously.
The SVMS/SVJH school complex is insanely busy, especially now more than ever do to the rush of kids to this area. What I don't understand is why the honchos over at the big office where they direct the district don't move the Freshmen up to Liberty North already and reduce the load of kids at the middle school and junior high. I really don't. The Freshmen should've been at Liberty North last year when the school first opened. Needless to say this is not the last those people at the District Office are going to hear about this. My mom and I went to pick up my sister from a mixer at the middle school and the car line to get in to pick up students was so long that it was protruding out of the neighborhood and onto North Stewart Road. It's just rediculous. What's worse is that all the cars that were holding up the line were the cars picking up 6th grade students. Then, in the bus lot where the parents of the 7th grade students were directed to go, there were parents that were trying to skip waiting for the 6th grade parents to get out of the way and they were cutting down through the parking lots and going the wrong direction in the lot. It was ASKING for an accident, either car to car or car to kid, because the parents that went the wrong way ended up on the wrong side of the lot and their kids were running out in front of traffic to get to their cars. Basically what I'm saying is, the school district needs to focus on moving the boundary so that they more evenly distribute students between the 2 middle schools and junior highs. The South Valley complexes by far have the heavier student load because more students live on the South Valley side (which is Northern Liberty) instead of the LMS/LJH side which is in Old Liberty to the Southeast. They just need to redistrict the feeder schools, really. The committee needs to take the 12 elementary schools and divide them equally between the middle school/junior high complexes. So like 6 feeder schools to each complex and 3 should be big schools and 3 should be relatively smaller schools in the district. That way the schools would be more even and therefore the traffic would be better.
